Marina Tracks

So this is a blatant re-post from a blog I just found called Whitezine, but it’s really cool and I thought I’d share. Apparently these two artists created an entire DJ rig out of lego blocks. They’ve built their Technics turntables into it and everything! So hilarious. This is their website (I think it’s in German, anyone want to translate?), but here is where I found the english write up.

The champion of quirky, comedy, and all things organic, Jonathan Grossman had a quick Skype chat with me the other day. He shared some wisdom about what you need to be a successful composer.

This morning I sat down for a quick Skype chat with Andrew Lauzon, one of our artists based in Toronto, Canada. His track, ‘Happy to See Me’ (listen on our music page) has such thick, fat sounding guitars that I had to find out how he makes them. It turns out he has some pretty gnarly tricks up his sleeve! We are proud to announce that a portion of Marina Tracks‘ proceeds are donated to Heal The Bay, an organization whose purpose is to “make Southern California’s coastal waters and watersheds (including Santa Monica Bay) safe, healthy and clean,” (from their website).

So, every time you use our music in your project you will be helping keep our environment as clean as possible for our aquatic friends, like dolphins, sharks, sea lions. Not to mention safe for us surfers, swimmers, rowers, paddlers and beach-goers.

We’re so happy to announce that one of our favorite tracks was recently placed in a new-media spot for the amazing Lexus LFA automobile. This car is nuts – V10 engine, carbon-fiber body, etc. The list price on the super-car is US$375,000!

It’s our first placement, our first success, so we’re thrilled and excited for what’s in store.
